"Comedian's Galop" is said to be the single most famous piece of music that Dmitry Kabalevsky ever wrote. It is from The Comedians, Op. 26, an orchestral suite of ten numbers, one of his best-known and best-loved works.
Some say "Comedian's Galop" is to Kabalevsky what "Sabre Dance" is to Khachuturian. This energetic and short movement is highly suitable for the wind quintet. Have fun with the nimble articulations and playful gestures!
