L. Anderson - Sleigh Ride for Wind Quintet

$20.00

DESCRIPTION
Sleigh Ride is the perfect song to put you and your listeners in the mood for Christmas! Composed in 1948 by Leroy Anderson as a light orchestral piece, lyrics were added to Sleigh Ride by Mitchell Parish soon after in 1950. It has since became a Christmas standard!

The light and playful mood of Sleigh Ride is perfect for the Wind Quintet comprising of flute, oboe, clarinet, horn and bassoon. The horse whinny effect is taken on by the clarinet. So, have fun with that!

A percussion part is added just because - you cannot have Sleigh Ride without the Sleigh Bells! Whipcrack punctuations are also added to the percussion line. If your wind quintet does not have these standard percussion instruments, do improvise with more accessible and portable bells or with clapping to mimic whipcrack. Enjoy this wind quintet version by Lin Y. E.!
